Visa taps Fintech District for fintech in Italy

Visa, the global electronic payment giant, has announced a partnership with Fintech District, an Italian community of national and international stakeholders in the FinTech ecosystem. The partnership aims to further expand Visa’s network in Italy, allowing them to strengthen ties to the Italian FinTech scene and contribute to the growth of the sector.

Fintech District currently has over 250 FinTech members, many of which have revolutionized the payments market with new business models. The organization aims to support both Italian startups and new international companies by promoting the sharing of best practices, partnerships around technology, access to international capital, and communication with relevant parties in other countries.

Italy recently established a regulatory sandbox to encourage FinTech innovation in the country. Visa has also been actively working with FinTech startups through initiatives such as its Fintech Fast Track Program, which provides startups with access to Visa’s partner network and experts to help them get established.

Eva Ruiz Cendon, Visa Southern Europe Head of FinTech, stated that Visa has been actively involved in the FinTech industry for a long time, offering a range of programs to support the growth of startups, and adopting an open approach to its network, providing innovative players with access to Visa’s global scale and capabilities.
